The Tamsin Cooper label grew out of a personal love for fashion, colour, embroidery and the luxury of silk.
This year Tamsin Cooper proudly celebrates its tenth anniversary, we design luxury, limited edition fashion accessories and clothing. All the embroidery and beading is exquisitely hand stitched using traditional techniques onto beautiful silk fabrics creating timeless pieces to be worn and loved by women around the globe.
Ten years of business has seen the brand grow from a small collection designed in the mountain hamlet of Arrowtown, to a nationally acclaimed fashion label with its flagship boutique and headquarters based in the beautiful historic Moray Chambers in Dunedin City, New Zealand. Tamsin Cooper is renowned for her creative collaborations and is honoured to have strong ties with the Royal New Zealand Ballet. This association has led to the commission of three collections under the label Tamsin Cooper for Royal New Zealand Ballet. This year marks the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s 60th anniversary as well as Tamsin’s 10th anniversary. To mark this auspicious year Tamsin has had the honour of designing the “Anniversary” collection, which debuted to rave reviews at iD Dunedin Fashion Week in March 2013. This collection is available on-line and in select stockists nationwide.
The Tamsin Cooper brand reflects a truly global perspective. From designing the collection in Dunedin, renowned for its thriving fashion and arts community, to making regular trips to North Vietnam to visit the skilled artisans that craft her designs. The vibrant surroundings and rich heritage in both countries serves as infinite inspiration to her designs.
Tamsin Cooper designs are stunning heirloom pieces that you will treasure and wear for many seasons to come.
I love fashion, I dress up every day. My style is colourful, feminine and just a tiny bit glam. I am constantly inspired by vintage fashion, movies, ballet, theatre, luxurious silk fabrics, hand embroidery and traditional crafts. I adore being a designer and my passion is to create timeless pieces that will make you look stunning and feel amazing. I want you to be the star when you enter a room wearing a Tamsin Cooper accessory or coat.
I create fashion pieces that will transform you, from a beautiful brooch to liven up a simple outfit or a limited edition velvet coat to make a grand entrance in. When you buy one of my designs you are buying a piece that has been beautifully handmade by skilled craftspeople and we hope that you will treasure it for many seasons to come!
Tamsin Cooper is a socially conscious label with our designs manufactured ethically, keeping traditional crafts alive and supporting non-urbanisation by using skilled artisans in the North of Vietnam to produce our luxury designs.
The hand embroidered and beaded detail on our designs is outsourced to traditional embroidery villages on the outskirts of Hanoi, Vietnam. These villages have been working in their traditional craft for around 1000 years and they also tend to their communal farms when not working on their craft.
The talent and skill of these incredible craftspeople ensures that the workmanship of any Tamsin Cooper product is of the highest quality.
By purchasing our products you are helping to keep traditional crafts alive and are giving crafts people the choice to stay with their families and work in their village rather than having to leave to work in the city.
We have attached a letter directly from our fashion accessory manufacturers about their staff and working conditions. We are immensely proud to work with such a caring and responsible company in the production of our designs.

We have about 40 full-time employees and about 200 part-time employees. Full-time employees work in our company and workshops. They have all the benefits as specified in the labor law in Vietnam such as health insurance and social security. They have 12 day annual leave. We serve lunch for our employees. The average tenure of our employees are 6 years. The employee who has the longest tenure in our company has been working in our company for 17 years. Every year we organize a vacation for all employees and their families.
Our part-time employees work for us from their house. Many of them are from villages, which have some traditional skills such as embroidery. We pay them well above the average wage.
We are proud that we provide the jobs for the part-time employees because we help them have reasonable income without having to go to big cities for employment and we help them to keep and capitalize on the traditional skills to make a living.
Thanks and kind regards, Phuong
